One can not come to Rio de Janeiro and miss the
most famous landmark in Brazil - the Statue of Christ (Cristo Redentor).
The statue is located in the
Tijuca National Park -
the largest urban rainforest in the world! The views and statue itself
are breathtaking and will never be forgotten. Another great
photo opportunity is the Dona Martin Lookout Point where one has
an unobstructed view of the entire city!
Next it is off to Tijuca
Forest where we will see the waterfalls and the same type of
Rain Forest that the early settlers to
Brazil encountered when
they landed. On the way back, we drive through the Barra da Tijuca
area, which is the fastest growing neighborhood in Rio, and home to
the longest beach at over 14kms. Other beaches that we will pass
include Sao Conrado, Leblon, Ipanema, and finally Copacabana.
